Nancy Cerio has 25 years experience as an equine professional with a focus on western riding from a dressage point of view. For the last 15 years, she has also been training and showing gaited horses, and has developed a special expertise in the gaited horse. Nancy approaches her work with gaited horses as she would a dressage horse: she believes that only with a solid foundation (balance, suppleness, relaxation, willingness to yield to aids and the bit) can a horse find the true rhythm of the gait. A longtime resident of Central New York, Nancy was also adjunct professor teaching western horsemanship and the Breaking and Training and Breeding Programs at Cazenovia College, where she taught for 12 years and coached the IHSA JV Western Riding Team.
